Why Choose this Training Course?

Compared with other forms of transport, pipelines allow a more continuous, stable, and high-capacity supply of hydrocarbons to reach end-users. Pipeline transportation has the advantages of being well established, efficient, cost-effective, and readily expandable.

The products carried in liquid pipelines include a wide range of materials. Process fluid systems gather production from onshore and offshore fields, while transmission lines transport them to terminals, interconnection points, and refineries.

This Pipe Stress Analysis course will combine the various disciplines of pipe stress analysis, including design, structural integrity, modes of failure, inspection, none destructive testing, etc., as well as the applications of relevant codes such as ASME B31.3 and API 570.

The delegates will be introduced to main points of inspection and testing according to relevant ASME and API standards.

The PetroKnowledge course will include several workshops with real problems from industrial practice which will enable discussions and exchange of experiences

This Pipe Stress Analysis training course will highlight:

  • Main aspects of pipeline design and manufacturing considerations
  • Knowledge of the governing principles of structural integrity and remaining life
  • Main types of pipe failure including fracture, fatigue, high temperature and corrosion
  • Introduction to relevant ASME and API codes
  • Relevant pipe inspection and non-destructive testing

What are the Goals?

By the end of this Pipe Stress Analysis training course, participants will be able to:

  • Develop deep understanding & familiarity basic principles of pipe design for various industrial applications.
  • Be familiar with the practical aspects of structural integrity, related to pipe operation
  • Have a knowledge of the various types structural and corrosion failure in relation to process pipes
  • Have an understanding of aspects of pipe inspection and non-destructive testing
  • Have the necessary knowledge of relevant piping codes, such as ASME and API
  • Use & follow the guidelines & best industrial practices related to the design and operation of pipelines

Who is this Training Course for?

  • Process, chemical and mechanical engineers working in petrochemical and process industry, including oil refineries and gas production companies where operation and maintenance of pipelines are high importance
  • Operation, technical service, and maintenance professionals from various processing plants involved in everyday operation, control, inspection, and maintenance of pipelines

ASME Training Courses

With the vast and in-depth coverage of the Oil & Gas and Petroleum Industry, it is essential that International Codes and Standards are in place to preserve uniform operational practices across all organisations worldwide. In line with this, many international organisations have published several inspection codes and standards.
In order for Oil & Gas professionals to remain abreast in the innovations in technology and with the new & revised inspection methodologies and best practices, PetroKnowledge is pleased to offer American Society for Mechanical Engineers (ASME) training courses and seminars, that focuses on the understanding of the code objectives, intents, stated and implied requirements, as well as the mandatory, recommended and optional stipulations. The training courses also aim to impart the necessary knowledge and skills to prepare the participants before taking the required examinations and certifications.
