Why Choose this Training Course?
Why Choose this Training Course?
During this PetroKnowledge training course we will discuss application of a string of rods which connect the downhole pump to the surface driving mechanism. The rods may be oscillated or rotated at the surface, depending on the type of pump used. Sucker rod pump is very useful for low well’s productivity and it has a lot of advantages suitable for different environment. Also, we will discuss the design, operation and troubleshooting of sucker rod pumps.
Historically, in water and oil wells, positive displacement pumps were the first to be applied, which required an alternating vertical movement to operate. This type of artificial lift uses a positive displacement plunger pump and a surface driving unit that converts the rotary movement of the motor with a mechanical linkage including a pivoted walking beam.
This PetroKnowledge training course will highlight:
- Introduction and overview
- Pumping Units
- Sucker Rods & Tubing
- Downhole Pumps & Downhole Separation
- Well Optimization

How will this Training Course be Presented?
How will this Training Course be presented?
This PetroKnowledge training course will utilise a variety of proven adult learning techniques to ensure maximum understanding, comprehension and retention of the information presented, the sessions will include visual, auditory and kinesthetic elements to cover the three different learning modalities. The daily sessions will be highly interactive and participative. This involves regular discussion of applications as well as hands-on exercises that will be solved manually and/or using Microsoft Excel.
Organisational Impact
Organization will gain (direct and indirect) the following:
- Employees who receive training have increased confidence and motivations;
- Lower cost of production –eliminates risks because trained personnel are able to make better
- Lower turnover –brings a sense of security at the workplace which in turn reduces labor turnover
- Change management –involvement of employees in the change process
Personal Impact
